Marty Wilde
Marty Wilde, born Reginald Leonard Smith, ( born April 15, 1939 in London, England ) is a British rock ' n' roll singer who was known in the second half of the 1950s, mainly through cover versions of American hits, such as Endless Sleep ( Jody Reynolds of original ), Donna ( by Ritchie Valens ), A teenager In Love ( Dion and the Belmonts from ) and Sea of Love ( Phil Phillips). Between 1958 and 1961, managed six of his singles made it into the British Top 10
Marty Wilde was one of the stars in the stable of music manager Larry Parnes. In the early 1960s eased his popularity as a singer, but he still scored significant sales with Rubber Ball (originally by Bobby Vee ) and Frankie Laine's Jezebel. For Wilde himself wrote several hits for other artists, such as Jesamine for The Casuals, I'm A Tiger for Lulu and Ice In The Sun Status Quo.
In the 1980s, he wrote and produced with his son Ricky Wilde hits his daughter Kim Wilde.
