Martynas Mažeika
Martynas Mažeika ( born January 29, 1985 in Klaipėda) is a Lithuanian professional basketball player.
Career
Martynas Mažeika could quite early gain valuable experience in the Lithuanian Basketball League ( LKL ) in his home club Neptunas Klaipeda. At 15 he had established himself as a fixture there and also excelled in international competitions with outstanding services. He was appointed each year in the youth national teams of Lithuania and completed all levels.
The 1.92 m wide M. Mažeika playing on the position of the Guards and can take over both the build-up play, as well as so-called " Shooter" appear. Particularly striking is its very good and tough defense.
In the season 2004/2005 M. Mažeika moved for four years to ALBA Berlin and developed steadily and took on more and more responsibility. For the season 2006/2007 he was awarded to Telekom Baskets Bonn, there to get more operating time and thus evolve. In the 2007/2008 season Mazeika played in the Italian Lega A for Pierrel Capo d' Orlando. For the 2008/2009 season, he returned to his home and signed a contract with Neptunas Klaipeda. For the 2009/2010 season Mazeika moved to Latvia to VEF Riga. He signed a contract until 2010. January 2010 his contract with VEF Riga, however, was dissolved at his own request and Mazeika moved to Greece for AEK Athens. There he was given a contract until the end of the season.
