Mary Katherine Campbell

Mary Katherine Campbell ( born May 20, 1906 in Columbus, Ohio; † 3 May 1990) was in 1922 and 1923, the second and third Miss America.

Mary Campbell ended in February 1922, the High School and received her diploma. Shortly afterwards, she was chosen against a panel of 170 other ladies for Miss Columbus and won on the inter-city contest in Atlantic City and then the title of Miss America. It was the last year in which amateur and professional models to be applied for the title of Miss America in various events.

In 1923 she won again the election for Miss America and was the first Miss America with a high school degree and to date the only " failure " that could win the title twice.
