Mary Willis Walker

Mary Willis Walker ( born May 24, 1942 in Foxpoint, Wisconsin) is an American crime writer.

Walker studied English at Duke University in North Carolina and graduated with a bachelor's degree. Subsequently, she worked as a high school teacher. After her marriage and the birth of her two daughters she gave in 1978 to their profession and began writing, first with commissioned work such as book reviews, essays and screenplays.

Direct her first novel Zero at the bones (German Raubtierfütterung ) won the 1991 Agatha Award for best first novel. Her second novel, The Red Scream (engl. The Red Scream ) has been awarded the Edgar Allan Poe Award, her third Under the Beetle 's Cellar (Eng. sub- basement of the beetle ) won the Hammett Prize. The protagonist of her novels is the reporter Molly Cates.

Walker lives in Austin, Texas.
