Masashi Tanaka

Masashi Tanaka (Japanese田中 政 志, Masashi Tanaka, * July 10, 1962 in Gotsu, Shimane, Japan) is a Japanese manga artist.

Tanaka studied at the Osaka University of Arts. His debut work as a professional mangaka appeared in 1983 in the Japanese manga magazine Morning. In 1992 he published the first time its most famous work, Gon. There is a dinosaur that never loses a word and travels through the whole animal world, at the center. The manga was released very successful in many countries; in Italy next Gon other of his works are published.

Although Tanaka's works are usually very dialogarm, but pierce through highly detailed drawings that will be developed without screen films.

For Gon he received several awards. For example, the 1998 Eisner Award for Best U.S. Edition of Foreign Material category. In the same year he won the second Media Arts Award.
