Mascot (Software)

Mascot is a software for the analysis of data from protein mass spectrometry.

Use

Serves for the identification of peptides and proteins in proteomics by a database search is performed.

Many facilities use Mascot, either as a licensed in-house installation or through the public web server.

Mascot is based on MOWSE, developed by Darryl Pappin and David Perkins at the Imperial Cancer Research Fund and has been licensed by Cancer Research Technology.
