Massacre (metal band)

Massacre (English: "massacre" ) is the name of one of the first death metal bands.

History

The band was founded in 1984 in Florida after it came in the band Mantas ( later Death ) create a rift between Chuck Schuldiner, Kam Lee and Rick Rozz. 1987 brought Schuldiner Rick Rozz back in the band. This brought his bandmates, drummer Bill Andrews and bassist Terry Butler to Death, who already has a record deal and a published album, Scream Bloody Gore, decreed. This Kam Lee was initially there alone. However, he could put together a new line-up and after the publication of three demos, the well-received in the tape trading scene, he was awarded with " Massacre" a contract with the British record label Earache Records. There, the debut album From Beyond, which today is considered a classic of the early death metal appeared. After a break, the band tried in 1996 to follow up with a new album on the old successes, but this did not succeed, and the band broke up.

In 2007, Steve Swansen (guitar), Sam Williams ( guitar) and Curt Beeson (drums ) took a one-time reunion tour with Terry Butler ( bass), Kam Lee ( vocals), instead. They played their last concert finally at the Wacken Open Air 2008.

Kam Lee founded with Terry Butler, Sam Williams and Curt Beeson, the band Denial Fiend, who played on the reunion tour as the opening act of Massacre. Terry Butler is now at Six Feet Under active, Steve Swanson also.

2012 Massacre played with a new line at the Wacken Open Air On this occasion, the band released a new 7 " vinyl EP on the label Century Media. On 24 March 2014, the band will release their comeback album Back From Beyond.
