Masvingo Province

Masvingo is a Province in southeastern Zimbabwe. It covers an area of ​​56,566 square kilometers with a population of about 1.3 million (2006). It is named after its capital city of Masvingo.

The province is dominated by the Karanga tribe which is one of the Shona. It is one of the semi-arid lowlands, which can dominate cattle. Outside of the rainy season, the area is dusty and dry.

Essentially, open forests with grasslands and find granite hills. There are also some mining and sugar cane, which is watered by the Mukurikwi River. In the east, the province bordering Mozambique and south to the Kruger National Park in South Africa.

Along the border with Mozambique is the Gonarezhou National Park.
