Mathilde of Angoulême

Mathilde of Angoulême ( † after 1233 ) was the daughter and heiress of Count Vulgrin III. of Angoulême († 1181 ) from the House of Taillefer.

When her father's death, Richard the Lionheart, Duke of Aquitaine explained to her guardian, however, denied by her uncle William VII (before 1186 ) and Aymar (1202 ) their inheritance. In the course of a compensation Lionheart 1188 Aymar recognized in the possession of Angoulême.
