Thomas Duffus Hardy

Thomas Duffus Hardy ( May 22nd 1804 in Port Royal, Jamaica, † June 15, 1878 ) was an English historian.

Sir Thomas Duffus Hardy joined in 1819 at the Record Office ( State Archives ) in London as a clerk, where he remained employed until his death; since 1861 he was the same director, in 1869 he was elevated to knighthood.

The government gave him the publication of the Monumenta historica Britannica, for which he wrote the general introduction. A large number of medieval instruments of English history, he has edited with skill and care
