Matt Reeves

Matt Reeves (* April 27, 1966 in Rockville Centre, New York ) is an American film director, screenwriter and film producer.

Life

His debut as a director and screenwriter he gave in 1993 with an episode of the movie Future Shock. Two years later he wrote the script for the action film Under Siege 2, 1996, he directed the film comedy The Pallbearer. Subsequently he worked as a director for television, where he directed numerous episodes of various series.

In 1998 a collaboration with JJ Abrams, the idea for TV series Felicity, for which he served as executive producer and 1998 turned five episodes as a director until 2002. He has also written 64 screenplays for this series.

In 2000, Reeves wrote the screenplay for the film The Yards - In the backyard of power. In 2008 he filmed the movie Cloverfield, which was produced by Jeffrey Jacob Abrams. In the same year he was honored by the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films with the Filmmaker's Showcase Award. Followed in 2010 with Let Me In, a remake of the Swedish horror film Let the Right One with Kodi Smit- McPhee and Chloë Moretz in the lead roles.
