Matthew Couch

Matthew Couch (* June 30, 1974 ) is an English snooker player. He lives in Scunthorpe.

Career

Couch began his professional career in 1992 as a 18 -year-old and could hold 15 years without a break on the snooker main tour. His best finish in the snooker world ranking was about number 47 in the 1999/2000 season, after he had beaten at the UK Championship to the quarterfinals.

In 2007 he dropped out as 70th in the world rankings from the professional tour, but could on the DIOS tour after a year of abstinence immediately again qualify for the main tour. He won one of the eight tournaments and reached the semi-finals in another.

His biggest success besides the UK Championship quarter-final, he was able to celebrate on the main tour at the Brugge Open 2010. In this minor ranking tournament in Belgium, which belonged to the then newly launched Players Tour Championship, he reached the final, where he lost to world number and later the Seventh Tour winner Shaun Murphy with 2:4.
