Matthew Luo Duxi

Matthew Luo Duxi ( born July 2, 1919 in Renshou, Sichuan, China; † 4 December 2009) was a Catholic bishop of Leshan.

Luo Duxi came from a Catholic family. He studied from 1946 to 1956 at the seminary in Chengdu. Due to the political situation, a priestly ordination could not at first take place, instead he was under administrative control of state from 1958 to 1972 and worked as a farmer.

1981 brought him the romtreue Bishop Paul Deng Jizhou back into the church service and donated his 1983 ordination. In 1987 he became vicar general of Leshan. Bishop John Chen Shi- zhong consecrated him on 21 September 1993 on the first bishop of the diocese of Leshan. He was accepted by the Chinese authorities and later received the recognition of the Roman Curia.
