Matthew Parris

Matthew Parris ( born August 7, 1949) is a British politician of the Conservative Party, author and journalist.

Life

Parris grew up in South Africa and visited his school days Waterford Kamhlaba. He then studied in England law at the University of Cambridge and then international relations at Yale University. After studying the end, he spent two years in the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office operates; he decided then but for a political career and was active as a politician in the Conservative Party. From 3 May 1979 to 8 May 1986 Parris was the successor of James Scott -Hopkins MP in the House of Commons for West Derbyshire. Successor of Parris as a deputy, Patrick McLoughlin. After his deputies time Parris worked as a television presenter of the British TV program Weekend World on ITV; the program he took over in 1986 as the successor of television journalist Brian Walden. The show hosted Parris until 1988. Afterwards he worked for the Great Lives documentation as a journalist on BBC Radio 4. He also appeared in the show Have I Got News For You and moderated the program After Dark.

Parris wrote many books authored over the years. among other things, A Castle in Spain, Mission Accomplished: A Treasury of the Things Politicians Wish They Had not Said Matthew Parris and opportunity Witness: An Outsider 's Life in Politics.

In August 2006, Parris married the British journalist Julian Glover Parris lives with his family temporarily in Spain and in London, where they have private apartments each.
