Matthias Abele

Matthias Abele and from Lily Mountain (* February 17, 1616 or 1618 in Steyr, † November 14, 1677 ) was an Austrian jurist and writer.

Life

Abele is the son of a knighted Hofkammersekretärs and the brother of the lawyer Christoph Ignaz Abele and from Lily Mountain. Originally the family came from Swabia and settled in 1547 in Styria down. Abele studied philosophy in Graz, but moved to the University of Vienna to study later to rights. He completed his studies with a doctorate in law. from. The Court acknowledged this successful trial with the appointment to the Comes palatine.

In the years 1641-1643 Abele worked at the City Court of Vienna. In 1644 he became a lawyer in the government of Lower Austria. Two years later he was elected town clerk of Krems and Stein.

In 1648 he became secretary of the Innerberger iron union in Steyr. In the following years he was often traveling with diplomatic orders to Vienna, Graz, Prague and Bratislava. 1658 he was appointed Secretary of the upper iron union.

Already in 1652 Abele was taken by Prince Ludwig I of Anhalt- Köthen in the Fruitbearing society. He awarded him the company name and the motto The Ultimate What is in dispute. As an emblem Abele were intended for the Stechdörner. In society book of society Abeles entry is under the number 585

With the decree of November 5, 1665 drew Emperor Leopold I. Abele entitled to and Lily Mountain, Owner of the Manor of hacking.

The highlight of his career learned Abele 1671 with the appointment to the Imperial Council and court historian.
