Mauno Pekkala's cabinet

The Cabinet Pekkala was the 31 Cabinet in the history of Finland. It held office from 26 March 1946 to 29 July 1948 ( 857 days ).

The people Mauno Pekkala Democrat, former Social Democrat and under his predecessor Juho Kusti Paasikivi State Minister, formed a majority appeal, the Popular Front government of Economics and Social Democrats, the Agrarian League and the Swedish People's Party.

During the reign Pekkalas the influence of the Left in Finland reached a climax and the fear of an imminent, supported by the Soviet Union coup increased. By posting the Interior Ministry, which was initially adopted by the Communists Yrjö Leino, who was married to the well-known communist Minister Hertta Kuusinen, including the Finnish secret police Valpo had come under Communist control.

By strategically guided treaty policy of the bourgeois forces of Finland with the Soviet Union, the influence of the Communists could eventually be diminished without causing a provocation in Moscow and in the summer of 1948 ended, the only people of Democrats led government of Finland.
