Maurice Cummins

Maurice Cummins ( born February 25, 1953 in Waterford) is an Irish politician and senator in Seanad Éireann since 2002, the Leader of the Seanad ( leader of the senators from the government side) he has been since May 2011.

Cummins was first elected in 2002 for the Fine Gael Seanad Éireann in the. His election took place in this case for the field workers ( Labour Panel). In the elections to Seanad Éireann 23 he was able to defend his position.

Prior to his career as a Senator Cummins was active in the city council of his native town and had during that time 1995/1996 held the office of mayor.
