Maurice Donnay

Maurice Donnay ( born October 12, 1859 in Paris, † March 31, 1945 ) was a French dramatist.

Maurice Donnay studied at the École centrale Paris and worked briefly as an engineer. Maurice Donnay also wrote songs for the cabaret Le Chat Noir.

Donnay wrote mainly comedies. In 1907 he became a member of the Académie française. He was also honored with the title of Grand Officer of the Legion of Honour.
