Maurice Utrillo

Maurice Utrillo ( born December 26, 1883 in Paris, † November 5, 1955 in Dax ) was a French painter and the son of Suzanne Valadon.

Life

Maurice Utrillo was born on December 26, 1883 in Paris and was the son of the Parisian painter Suzanne Valadon - who was his biological father is unknown. Work

His works are classified by art historians in several periods:

  • Impressionist period (1900 to about 1903). The paintings of this period are still often dark and gloomy.
  • Period of Montmagny (about 1904-1906 ). In this northern suburb of Paris, he mainly painted street scenes. Gradually the picture brightened.
