Mavora Lakes

The Mavora Lakes are two lakes on the South Island of New Zealand, North and South Mavora Mavora. The lakes are situated in the northwest of the Southland region and drained by the Mararoa River in the Waiau River.

There are primitive campsites. The park is maintained by the Department of Conservation and served as a filming location for Peter Jackson's film adaptation of The Lord of the Rings.
