Max Jean

Max Jean ( born July 27, 1943 in Marseille ) is a French former racing driver.

Jean spent much of his racing career in the French Formula Ford, he was able to complete even as the overall winner in 1968. In 1970 he moved to Tecno into Formula 3

In 1971 he got thanks to his sponsor, the lubricant manufacturer Motul proceeding with the opportunity for the team of Frank Williams Racing Cars in a March 701 at his home Grand Prix at the Circuit Paul Ricard. From position 22 in race walking, he came up with nine laps behind winner Jackie Stewart to the finish.

This effort should continue to be his last Formula 1 race. In the following years, Jean drove at Formula 2 and Formula 3, among other things, for the Martini team.

His name is given in some sources also with Jean Max.
