Max Kleiber

Max Kleiber ( born January 4, 1893 in Zurich, † January 5, 1976 in Davis, California ) was a Swiss biologist, agricultural and food scientists. His work on the relationship between body size and metabolism in mammals are today cited in many scientific publications and, as Kleiber's law ( engl. ' Kleiber's law' or even ' Kleiber's rule' ) found their way into standard textbooks of animal physiology.

From 1929 to 1960 Nuthatch professor at the College of Agriculture of the University of California, Davis (UC Davis). He received, among others the ' Borden Award of the American Institute of Nutrition (1952) and the ' Morrison Award of the American Society of Animal Production ( 1953).
