Maxim Sokolov
Maxim Anatoljevich Sokolov (Russian Максим Анатольевич Соколов; born May 27, 1972 in Leningrad, Russian SFSR ) is a retired Russian professional ice hockey goaltender, who in the course of his career, including for the SKA Saint Petersburg, the HK Avangard Omsk, Metallurg Novokuznetsk and Severstal Cherepovets the Superleague and Kontinental Hockey League has played. In the early 2000s he belonged to the squad of the Russian national team, and participated in a total of six world championships and the Olympic Hockey Tournament 2006.

Career
Maxim Sokolov started his career in 1992 with SKA St. Petersburg in the first Russian league. After further stops in the first Russian Severstal Cherepovets league with Avangard Omsk and HK in 2005, he returned to Saint Petersburg back. In Metallurg Novokuznetsk Sokolow was from 2007 under contract, before he returned to his hometown club in 2009. In addition to intervening in the Kontinental Hockey League for the SKA Sokolow also completed games for the farm team of the SKA, the HK WMF St. Petersburg, in the Wysschaja Hockey League. In November 2010, Sokolow temporarily changed to HC Traktor Chelyabinsk, before joining his hometown club, SKA St. Petersburg, returned in December of the same year.
In May 2012, Sokolow was at Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk under contract before he finished his career in May 2013.
Internationally
With the Russian national selection Sokolow took part in six World Championships and the Olympic Hockey Tournament 2006. He won the silver and bronze medal at the 2005 World Championship in 2002. He also took part in the World Cup of Hockey 2004.
