Maxima Group

Maxima grupė is a Lithuanian company founded in 1997. It operates 500 shopping centers (226 in Lithuania, 141 in Latvia, 70 in Estonia, 21 in Poland and 42 in Bulgaria, formerly also in Romania). "Maxima grupė " part of the Lithuanian Holding " Vilniaus prekyba ". There are 29,500 employees. 2008, revenue was 10 billion litas ( 2.8 billion euros ). 2010 sales totaled 7.279 billion Lithuanian litas (about 2.108 billion euros ). 2012 was achieved sales of 8.217 billion litas ( 2.38 billion euros ).

The group includes the company UAB Maxima LT, MAXIMA Latvija SIA, MAXIMA Eesti OÜ, MAXIMA Bulgaria EOOD and Aldik NOVA Sp z oo (Poland).

Misfortune in Riga Zolitude on November 21, 2013

On the evening of November 21, 2013, about 18 clock local time, the roof structure of the Maxima XX super market crashed in the Riga district a Zolitude. In the accident at least 54 people were killed.
