Maximilian Oberst

Colonel Maximilian ( born October 6, 1849 in Regensburg, † November 18, 1925 in Halle) was a German surgeon and university lecturer.

Life

Colonel studied medicine at the Ludwig- Maximilians- University of Munich and was established in 1869 when Corps Isaria active. Approved in 1874, he was from 1874 to 1877 assistant physician in the surgical clinic Augsburg. In 1876 he received his doctorate in Erlangen. In 1877 he worked as an assistant in hall under Richard von Volkmann.

In 1881 Colonel habilitated about the influences of antiseptic treatment after amputations. In 1884, he was Adjunct Professor. In the three years emperors, he described the later named after him conduction anesthesia ( Colonel block) the finger. By 1894 he was head of the surgical clinic of the University of Halle. From 1894 to 1920 he was director and chief physician of the hospital Bergmannstrost in Halle. In 1919 he was appointed Full Professor.
