Máximo Diego Pujol

Máximo Diego Pujol ( born December 7, 1957 in Buenos Aires ) is an Argentine classical guitarist and composer.

Life

Pujol graduated from the Conservatory " Juan José Castro ", from which he graduated as a "Professor Superior de Guitar" and studied guitar among others, Abel Carlevaro, Alfredo Vicente Gascón, Horacio Ceballos, Liliana Ardissone and Miguel Ángel Girollet. He also studied under the guidance of Leonidas Arnedo harmony and composition and participated in master classes and seminars by Antonio de Raco, Abel Carlevaro and Leo Brouwer.

His compositions are strongly influenced by Astor Piazzolla and similar to that used Pujol Argentine folklore and tango as a basis for his work. Pujol has already played in major concert halls in Argentina, such as Centro Cultural San Martín, Museo Historico Nacional del Cabildo, Museo Casa de Ricardo Rojas, Biblioteca Argentina de Rosario, Biblioteca Bernardino Rivadavia de Bahía Blanca Universidad Tecnológica Nacional (Mendoza ), as well as on many guitar festivals in South America, Europe and Australia.

Both as a guitarist and as a composer he has received numerous awards, such as the 1978 award for composers of the Asociación Promociones Musicales and in 1989 the price of the Association of Argentine composer as the best composer of classical music of Argentina.

1989/1990 Pujol appeared in the series La Guitarra en Primavera, at the Irma Costanzo directed.

Máximo Diego Pujol is one of the most important Latin American composers of the 20th century. His works are played by guitarists worldwide.

He currently lives in Buenos Aires, where he composed and taught.

Pujol has published more than 40 compositions from Lemoine, Universal, Orphée and Les productions d'Oz. Numerous other compositions were not disclosed.
