Maxwell (unit)

The Maxwell ( unit symbol: Mx) is the obsolete cgs unit of magnetic flux. It is named after James Clerk Maxwell.

1935 has established at a conference in Scheveningen, the unit symbol "Mx " for the Maxwell IEC, previously was the character " M" common.

The Maxwell is now replaced by the SI unit of Weber ( Wb) and since 1 January 1978 no longer officially valid unit.
