Maja Andrejewna Petrova (Russian Майя Андреевна Петрова, scientific transliteration Majja Andreevna Petrova, born May 26, 1982 in Volgograd, USSR; born Maja Andrejewna Kawerina ) is a Russian handball player.

Petrova began eleven years playing handball at a school in Volgograd. From the age of 17 years she was in the squad of the Russian first division AKWA Volgograd. With Volgograd they won the 2001 championship. Since 2003, the county runner in GK Rostov - Don is under contract. With Rostov she won in 2007, 2008 and 2012, the Russian Cup.

Petrova graduated so far 41 games for the Russian national team, in which they scored 40 hits. With Russia, she won the 2009 World Cup and finished third at the 2008 European Championship.

Petrova participated in several beach handball tournaments. In 2004 she won the World Cup and the European Championship.
