Mazhilis

The Mäschilis (Russian Мажилис парламента Казахстана, Kazakh Қазақстан Республикасының Парламенті Мәжілісі on German Parliamentary Assembly of the Republic of Kazakhstan) is the lower house in the bicameral parliamentary system of Kazakhstan. The upper house is the Senate.

107 members are elected every four years in the House of Commons. 9 MPs are appointed as representatives of ethnic minorities by the Kazakh president. The building is located in the capital Astana.

The present structure has the following appearance:

• Nur Otan 83 seats
• Democratic Party Ak Schol 8 seats
• Communist People's Party of Kazakhstan 7 seats
• Appointed representatives of ethnic minorities 9 seats
