McKey is a defined and used for statistical settlement area ( Census-designated place CDP) in Sequoyah County in the U.S. state of Oklahoma.

According to the 2000 census it had a population of 135 on an area of 15.4 km ². The population density is 8.9 inhabitants per km ².

McKey is north of the Illinois River between Salisaw in the east and in the west of Vian on an old railway line, the Old Osage and Arkansas Valley Railroad. The railroad runs north and roughly parallel to Interstate 40, which runs about five kilometers south of the railway between CDP and Illinois approximately east-west direction.

The CDP grouped around the former MacKey 's Salt Works, a Saline in Permian rock salt. The salt came in the form of saline springs to the surface and was won there by boiling.

A post office for McKey existed between 13 March 1891, 14 July 1928.
