McLennan Reservation is a 594 acre ( 2.4 km ²) large nature reserve on the urban areas of Otis and Tyringham, Massachusetts in the United States, which is administered by the organization The Trustees of Reservations.
Sanctuary
Named after its founder John S. McLennan reserve consists mainly of wooded mountain slopes and wetlands at the southern end of the Tyringham Valley. It is bordered by up to 1,500 ft ( 457.2 m) high mountains Round Mountain and Long Mountain. The saddle is the lake Hale Pond, which arises only when beaver damming the Camp Brook through the establishment of a dam.
From the entrance 1.5 mi ( 2.4 km ) partially challenging trails through the reserve. At its southern end it borders the Ashintully Gardens.
