Mecoprop or Methylchlorphenoxypropionsäure ( MCPP ) is a herbicide of the class of auxin herbicides. The main application is directed against broad-leaved weeds such as thistles, dandelions, winches and cranesbill. It is often used in combination with other herbicides such as similar 2,4-D, dicamba or MCPA.
Isomerism
Mecoprop is a mixture of stereoisomers, wherein said ( R) - ( )- enantiomer ( " mecoprop- P", " Duplosan kV" ) having herbicidal activity.
The Antiauxin clofibric acid stereoisomer is to mecoprop.
Further use
Mecoprop is also used as Durchwurzelungsschutzmittel in roofing felt.
