MediaFLO

MediaFLO is a developed by the U.S. chip maker Qualcomm standard for the transmission of television images to mobile devices ( Mobile TV ). MediaFLO is a composite word made with media and FLO FLO stands for " Forward Link Only ".

In addition to DVB -H and DMB, MediaFLO, another technology for the multicast transmission of television images and other media content.

The maximum possible data transfer rate to be as high as 11 Mbit / s and to be the battery consumption of the mobile terminals is substantially less than with previous standards (up to four times with a standard battery). Qualcomm has formed a subsidiary called MediaFlo and is currently building in the U.S. broadcast network on. In the U.S., Verizon and AT & T put on MediaFlo. In Europe MediaFlo is tested by Qualcomm in cooperation with the British company BSkyB ( British Sky Broadcasting).
