MediaTek Inc. (MTK ) is a fabless manufacturer of microcontrollers usually based on ARM architecture for inter alia optical drives, smartphones, tablets, TVs, set -top boxes, GPS receivers, wireless routers and Bluetooth devices from Taiwan.

Founded in 1997, stood still 2008 with a turnover of U.S. $ 2.896 billion to rank 24 of the world's largest semiconductor manufacturers. In contrast to the rest of the industry, since it was able to increase its sales by over 20 %, there was MediaTek 2009 was ranked 15th in the list.
