Mediomatrici

The Mediomatrici (Latin Mediomatrices ) were a Celtic tribe in what is now eastern France, Saarland and Rhineland- Palatinate. From their capital Divodorum Mediomatricum today Metz has emerged.

Adjacent to you the Treverians that Leuker and Eburons lived in the heartland of La Tène culture. Besides Metz arose from settlements and oppida the Mediomatrici eg the cities of Saarbrücken, Speyer, Homburg and Rodalben. However, the affiliation is to the field of Mediomatrici today very controversial for Speyer, Homburg and Rodalben.
