Medvědí skála

The Medvědí skala ( German: Bear Stone, also Amber Mountain ) is a 924 m high mountain in the Czech part of the Erzgebirge.

Location

The mountain is located three kilometers southwest of Mikulovice in the area of ​​Nová Ves v Horách and forms with the Lesenská pláň ( Hübladung ) is the largest mountain range in the central part of the Erzgebirge. The mountains lie between the Saxon and the Czech town of Litvinov Olbernhau and be surrounded by the valleys of the rivers Natzschung, Schweinitz and Floeha.

When station No. 13 Amber mountain, the summit was a stop first order of the Royal Saxon triangulation in the 60s of the 19th century.

The Medvědí skala is difficult to climb because it is partially surrounded by moors and there are no landscaped paths.
