The Meese head, even Mesenkopf, is a 225.8 m above sea level. NN high mountain in Wiehengebirge, south of the city Luebbecke. 300 meters to the east is the 276 meter high Reineberg, the mountain of the city Luebbecke, west of the Valley of the Ronceva.

The Meesenburg

On the Meese head probably the castle Meese castle was built by Count Otto I of Tecklenburg ( 1209-1263 ). This tecklenburgische castle was conquered by the Minden Bishop Konrad I of Rüdenberg in a joint military action with the Diocese of Osnabrück and destroyed. Supposedly subsequently been removed at the request of the Minden Bishop Konrad 1216 to the attachment on the Meese head.
