Meet the Temptations is an album by the Temptations.

It was not until three years after their contract signing with Berry Gordy The Temptations released their first LP. Meet the Temptations is therefore mainly a compilation of recordings from these three years.

Therefore, on the album to hear the original line of the Temptations ( with one exception), so Elbridge Bryant, Melvin Franklin, Eddie Kendricks, Otis Williams and Paul Williams. Only for The Way You Do the Things You Do Bryant is already replaced by David Ruffin, after there had been internal conflicts between Bryant and the rest of the band.

The Way You Do the Things You Do, with the lead vocal of falsetto singer Eddie Kendricks, was also the first major hit of the group. For the majority of the album, however, assumes baritone / tenor Paul Williams, the lead vocal of this early Motown work, in which the typical Motown sound is still not found, singing and musical accompaniment but already equal the related standards.

Since Meet the Temptations was initially released only in mono, a stereo version also appeared in January 1966.
