Megapenthes

Megapenthes (Greek Μεγαπένθης ) is in Greek mythology, king of Argos.

He is the son of Proetus and Stheneboea and cousin of Perseus and thus grandnephew of Acrisius. He is the father of Argeus and Iphianeira. Some sources also mention Anaxagoras as one of his sons.

After his father, he takes over the government of Tiryns. When Perseus accidentally kills Acrisius exchange Perseus and Megapenthes their realms and so he became king of Argos. Later, he is said to have killed Perseus.
