Meiko (American singer)

Meiko ( born February 25, 1982 in Roberta, Georgia ) is an American singer / songwriter who currently lives in Los Angeles ( California).

On 1 September 2007, she has released an album called after her without the help of a label. With this it has reached position 35 of the U.S. "iTunes Top 100 album charts " and for a month # 1 on the "iTunes Folk Album Chart ". Within the first nine months of iTunes had more than 200,000 downloads of her album. Several of her songs were presented in prime time in different television shows.

After Meiko had signed a record contract with the label MySpace Records / DGC in June 2008, this published in cooperation with Meikos own independent label Lucky Ear Music a new version of their album. The songs were remixed and remastered for this. The most popular songs were re-recorded and the new song " Boys With Girlfriends" add to the album.

The re-release of the digital album took place on 5 August 2008 and reached both # 14 in the "iTunes Top 100 Album Chart " and # 1 in the "iTunes Folk Album Chart ". The new song " Boys with Girls Friends" reached # 1 on the "iTunes Folk Song Charts ". On 21 November 2008 Meikos LP was the best selling album on Amazon.com.
