Melano

Melano is a municipality in the district Ceresio, in the district of Lugano in the canton of Ticino in Switzerland on the shores of Lake Lugano.

History

The place is first mentioned in the year 799 and was in the Middle Ages an important port on the lake. The village church of San Andrea was built in 1850 by the architect Luigi Fontana.
