Melete

Melete (Greek Μελέτη, practice, practice) is in Greek mythology, one of the so-called " Titanic " muses ( in contrast to the now common, mentioned by Hesiod nine Muses ). She was the muse of meditation, exercise and practice. Her sisters Pausanias are Aoide (vocals) and mneme (reminder). Cicero mentions as sisters Thelxinoe ( the Heartwarming ), Arche (the beginning ) and Aoide ( the song ). With him, they are daughters of Zeus and the nymph Plusia.

Was named after her, the asteroid (56 ) Melete.
