Mell Lazarus

Mell Lazarus ( May 3, 1927 in Brooklyn, New York City ) is an American comic book artist.

As a teenager, Lazarus began to draw. After high school, he became an assistant to Al Capp. In 1957 he published the humorous comic strip Miss Peach is a teacher and her class. The strip ran for 45 years and was printed in 300 newspapers. Starting in 1970, followed Momma - a comic strip about the Senior Sonja Hobbs and her three growing children Francis, Marylou and Thomas - which is still published today. In Germany appeared Lazarus ' simply drawn stories in the series Comics World Famous characters series ( 1,2,8 ) when Carlsen Verlag.
