Mellilä

Mellilä [ mɛl ILAE ː ] is a former municipality in the southwestern Finnish landscape Varsinais- Suomi. At the beginning of 2009, it was amalgamated with Alastaro in the city Loimaa.

The community Mellilä had an area of ​​110.51 km ² and last 1178 inhabitants. In addition to the community center belonged to the municipality of the villages Isoperä, Pesänsuo and Vähäperä. The former municipal area consists of flat soundtrack. The river Niinijoki, a tributary of the Loimijoki, flows through Mellilä in North West direction. Originally Mellilä belonged to Loimaa and Peränkulma was called. 1825 was the site of a church of their own. Since the opening of the station in 1885 Mellilä grew, so it was dissolved in 1916 from Loimaa and collected as a separate parish.
