Memmo di Filippuccio

Memmo di Filipuccio ( † after 1285 in Siena ) was a Sienese painter of the Italian Proto-Renaissance. Memmos daughter was married to Simone Martini.

As the father and teacher of well-known artist Lippo Memmi it comes to a certain importance because this owes to the imprint of his style Filipuccio allegedly.

Miniatures

Memmo di Filipuccio also worked as illuminator of manuscripts. Codes, which he has illuminated, shall be kept in the Biblioteca Comunale e Museo dell'Opera del Duomo in Siena, at the Fondazione Cini in Venice and in the Museo Nazionale di San Matteo in Pisa.
