Future

The M 156 will be replaced in the other series with the further developed eight-cylinder biturbo of the new series M 157 ( from the 3rd quarter of 2010, see facelifted S-Class and CL). The smaller 8- cylinder with smaller displacement and turbocharging are more efficient than large-volume naturally aspirated ( downsizing) and make it easier to meet the future ever-stricter emissions regulations.
