Merikare

Merikare, and Meri -ka -Re in throne name spelling, an ancient Egyptian king (Pharaoh) of the 10th Dynasty ( First Intermediate Period ).

Rule

The name is preserved only in fragments in the Turin Royal Canon, but the proper name is completely missing. He is also known by the "doctrine of Meri -ka- re ," in which his father by Jürgen von Beckerath conquered the eastern delta and populated.

We have also found the vessel cover and a range of writers with his name. His pyramid was probably at Saqqara, but is no longer detectable archaeologically. His cult of the dead, however, is well established on the basis of titles for officials who worked on his pyramid and seems to survived from the Middle Kingdom to have. The pyramid itself is unknown. Contemporaries (after Gomaa ) Antef II and III Antef. , Making it one of the rulers to the end of the 10th Dynasty.
