Meritorious Military Pilot of the German Democratic Republic

The honorary title of Honored military pilot in the German Democratic Republic was a state award of the German Democratic Republic (GDR ), which was awarded in the form of a medal with ribbon and associated Interim clasp. The title was donated on 1 August 1974., He was awarded for outstanding and special services in the aeronautical activity at the same time excellent results in the political and military training as well as for extraordinary achievements in increasing the combat readiness of the National People's Army. He was explicitly limited to pilots of the three branches of the armed forces of the NVA. Mandatory conditions for a possible award were: pilot performance class 1 and " no " self-inflicted accident. The number of maximum ceremonies was limited to just 10 per year honorary title.

Appearance

The obverse has the gold medal in the form of a standing on the top of the pentagon with a width of 31.5 mm and a height of 41.5 mm. At the lower tip of the insignia of the aircraft of the NVA is to see an upside-down flag of the GDR, which is colored enamel. Carrying method

The badge was worn from 1976 on the upper left side of the chest at a pentagonal light blue related clasp which had a size of 25 × 14 mm.
