Merope (Pleiades)

Merope (Greek Μερόπη ) is in Greek mythology, one of the seven Pleiades, daughter of Atlas and Pleione the Oceanid.

As only one of the Pleiades, she married a mortal, the Sisyphus. Out of shame about this she covered her face, and is therefore also the least luminous star of the Pleiades. With Sisyphus they had a son, Glaucus.
