MesÃas Maiguashca
Messiah Maiguashca ( born December 24, 1938 in Quito ) is an Ecuadorian composer.
Work
He is a representative of the new music, especially electronic music in the environment of Karlheinz Stockhausen.
His musical education took place at the Conservatorio de Quito, the Eastman School of Music, Rochester, NY, Instituto di Tella Buenos Aires and at the Hochschule für Musik Köln.
Maiguashca worked in the electronic music studio of West German Radio in Cologne and at various other places of activity in Europe. He has taught, inter alia, in Metz, Stuttgart, Basel and Quito. From 1990 to 2004 he was Professor of Electronic Music at the Musikhochschule in Freiburg im Breisgau.
